Turbo inlet intake..!!

Alright so i finally joined the ranks with the HMT peeps, i'm boosted!! Anyway, i'm currently running no filter on the turbo inlet, and i'm paranoid as fawk. I tried slapping on a pipe ( i have a K & N filter) but the problem lies with the clutch slave cylinder. The line is in the way so it's hard to fit anything right there.

So what are you all using as a turbo filter????

I would use a straight ( i have a grip left over) but the slave cylinder line is almost right in front of the turbo inlet. Whatever i fab up to work for an intake pipe is gonna have to be hella bent upwards in order to clear the slave lines.....

Sickocivic on here, a local guy to me. He took a K&N filter and cut it in half so that it is only about 3"tall. Then he just put a metal cap on it with silicone so it won't leak, and he has a custom stubby K&N.

I use a UNI motorcycle filter... picked it up from my local Honda Motorcycle dealership...

UNI filters come in all shapes and sizes, most likely they make something that will fit you application...

Here's a picture of mine, it's 4" long with a 2.5" inlet...

LOL you said it, not me. HAHA. Speaking of intakes, let me highjack this thread by asking: CAI + turbo. Worth the benefits? Discuss.

Personally, I have no idea. Of course you could say 'the air is just gonna get hot anyways', but would it get just as hot as usual, or would the temp it increases to be dependent on the temp it is when it's sucked in the filter?

How much did that cost?

I think it was $16 or so... it's a foam filter so it's not the best, but it fits and filters the air better than a screen so I don't care...

I think it would help, as long as it didn't cause much restriction. I've been wanting to make a little intake to have someplace to hook up a bung for my PCV. I thought about making it CAI style, 90deg up, 180 down into the wheel well.

Your post made me search HT and I found this:

I am going to do this. Much better idea. O0

That's freakin sweet!

I have been thinking about how I can do some sort of turbo intake as well... for the same reason, I want to do a slashcut to help evacuate my crankcase pressure... right now I am bypassing my PCV valve and venting into the atmosphere... which really stinks!

I smell like fumes every time I drive my car! LoL..

It looks like a lot of work to weld a pipe through my frame like above... are there any other options for us with our compressor on the driver's side? I've thought about doing a 90 straight down but I don't think I have enough room for a bend and a coupler...

well let me know what yous think..

i also have extra 2.5" mandrel U's so i could use one of thos
