turbo help for a newbie here...

im new here and new to turbos. ive got a 95 civic coupe with a LS swap and want to go turbo. how much boost will the stock LS hold? what turbo is a good turbo to run on the LS. i want to run around 8-10 psi on the stock block. i want boost fairly quick with decent high end hp. basically just a good all around turbo for the LS. what needs to be done internally on the LS, besides rods pistons, block guard, etc. to run 15-16 psi when i want to upgrade? im new to turbos and making power from import motors but ive been working on race cars and hotrods for years, just looking for advice and help.

thanx, cam

welcome to the 'ghetto' board....lol

Well if your here, then it sounds like you wanna do a junkyard setup. If I was in your shoes and wanted to run 8-10psi on a stock LS I'd keep my eye out on Ebay, Parts Trader, your local boards for a turbo manifold. Then score an Eclipse turbo or T3 from a Ford product. You may be limited by 'bolt pattern' match-up but re-drilling holes on a mani isnt that bad. Intercooler from , well what ever looks good to ya' (you'll most likely need to modify any intercooler you get, to work on your car)
On a low budget, I'd use a rising rate for fueling. (Until Ghettodyne w/ boost gets rolling that is......check on here for the thread. Good stuff)
Intake piping? 2.25-2.5" mandrels from JCWhitney. Rent a welder and waste a day on it.
I could go on about the little stuff, but this is just one option.
Had a friend who had a t25 or td05 on an LS; was pretty fun.

Spend an hour or 4 and muddle through the post's......

So your from the Domestic side of the tracks huh? What kind of rides you got?
Puh....lease say a GNX......j/k, a regular GN will do.....lol
