Turbo on a GM quad 4?
Not done by any of the regulars here.
Allready been quite a few posts asking about quads and Turbos.
Your problem is going to be aranging for a presure oil feed to the turbo.
It would be easier if your talking about a 4 stroke quad but then you didnt bother to mention any specifics.

I should have been more specific . I want to turbo a quad 4 engine from an older gm and put in a fiero . How much boost can the stock internals take I would like to run around 10-12 on the street , it is not a big deal if I have to beef it up a little. Thanks
well, you may want to change a few things before you try turboing one of those motors. they had about a 20% head gasket failure rate in NA form, i can't see them lasting too well under boost.
i know ACE engineering turbo'ed one that put down 325hp. the thing that blows on mid engined cars is the lack of decent intercooling. i have an 86SE fiero and a 91 turbo MR2 and neither really has any good options for intercooling save something like an air to water or water injection.
www.fiero.nl is your friend.

i'm assuming you already know everything that's involved with swapping that engine into your fiero?

I have a sunfire with one of the quad 4's in it and those motors are WEAK!!! They won't take much boost for very long. Personally I wouldn't go any higher than 7psi without beefing up the bottom end. Almost a guarantee you'll throw a number 3 rod bearing!! But if you want more info for them goto www.j-body.org, just watch out for all the winers. Oh yeah you might as well just do a huge search there cause asking questions usually just gets a flame contest started. There is some good info if you can weed through the bullshit...
