turbo getting to much oil
so i figured out that i'm burning oil im my 99 civic dx, not because of my turbo oil return but because of my oil feed. My turbo is getting to much oil. It is a dsm t25 and i have -4an going to it. Is this too big? Should I go to a -3an? I also read something about hooking of a valve to the turbo oil inlet that will restrict some of the oil. I just bought an oil pressure gauge but it isn't hooked up yet. Can anyone give me any suggestions on what i should do.
Thanks |
Re:turbo getting to much oil
i think alot of people here have been using a needle valve with much success.

Re:turbo getting to much oil
can you tell me a little more about this and what i would need.

Re:turbo getting to much oil
im gonna put a needle valve on my oil line and a oil pressure gauge after the valve to check the pressure. I think it has to be 80psi or a little below? someone correct me if im wrong

Re:turbo getting to much oil
use a thinner oil feed line...

Re:turbo getting to much oil
'maximum boost' page 41 it explains it all. the 60+ your giving it is not good...

Re:turbo getting to much oil
so whats a good PSI level for oil feed?
|
Re:turbo getting to much oil
how much thinner should i go -2an or -3an?
|
Re:turbo getting to much oil
im probably just gonna run an oil cooler inbetween to kill two birds.

Re:turbo getting to much oil
so whats a good PSI level for oil feed? 5-25 min up to 60-65 max. Anything more than that and you're likely to overpower the seal and cause it to smoke |
