turbo with fewest fitment issues

Wich turbocharger that works on the civic standard exaust manifold has the fewest fitment issues. I.E. wastegate actuator hitting block or any other obstruction. I looked for a thread that covered this in the newby section but i didnt see one. :-\

First off what year civic and what motor? Second, by standard exhaust mani. do you mean stock? Cause I'm asuming that you know you need a turbo manifold to mount a turbocharger.....

I think he means Standard mani=HF mani=VX mani...can't say I've hah experience with that style setup but I think most people have problems running T3s maybe a DSM turbo T25 14b something that size should fit well....HTH

Ive read that the t25 and hf mani is a good fit. If thats the mani you are talking about.

Re: turbo with fewest fitment issues

Fitting well means a small turbo, which means little fun!!!!!!

But the 14b work fine for me. Wastegate needed some moving, but mostly because of rotating the center section.

Re: turbo with fewest fitment issues

im using a 14b....and although i had to play around with it...it is extremely easy to rotate the exhaust and compressor housings to get it to fit exactly how you need it.

the exhaust is just a v-band clamp....and the compressor housing is a big snap ring.

you have to grind down a little notch on the compressor housing and then you can rotate it 360 degrees.

I used t25 with a vx mani..Worked just fine...Oh did i mention i also had a Fluidyne full size radiator...Didnt hit nor scrape anywhere on the block or radiator..

i dont mean to thread jack but would a t3/t04 have enough room for the a/c p/s or does it depend on the manifold? In which case is there one thats pre-fabbed?

in an EK

Re: turbo with fewest fitment issues

it depends on the mani! or just yank out the ac,and roll the windows down.

Thanks for the info guys. I seen a company that makes an adapter that connects the civic standard manifold to a t-3 turbo. does anyone have any experience with these. i think the company was bmc racing or something like that. :)

Re: turbo with fewest fitment issues

i used the hf mani with a tr 42 48 and smashed the wastegate so i got some flat bar and mounted the wastegate to it and then the block(takes some fabbing) and voila adjustable internal wastegate. just loosen the bolt that holds the flat bar to the block and pull back on the wastegate then tightin works real good and i didnt have a problem after taht
