turbo f22 in 97 accord?

i have a friend who is looking to turbo his 97 auto accord. we basicly have everything covered. i just have a few ?'s as i havnt used an auto befor. first is his car pbd2a or obd2b? im guessing its obd2a because my civic is and i dont htinkg they changed to obd2b until 98 but im not sure on accords. also i sure he would have to get an automatic ecu rite? i have found him a base map that was a pain but not to hard. im just unsure of it because its an automatic. anyone with info please help. thanks.

I would refer you to your signature for your true answer..... ;D
and what the heck is pbd2a sounds like a yugoslavian car????

I am assuming that you will want to tune using a chipped ecu, and that is why you are asking about this. Your stock ECU is an OBD 2 unit and will have to be converted to the older obd 1 to use your own chip, this requires a harness adaptor, an obd 1 ecu (a p05 would be good) and possibly changing some components at the igniition (may need to swap your Dist. for an older obd 1 unit....not 100% sure for your application)

Auto/Manual ecus dont matter too much. The only difference is the addition (or lack of) a couple of resistors on the board (you can reaserch this at pgmfi.org) ....again no personal experience with this, so read up at the pgmfi board.

I am planning on turboing an f22a this winter and have found that Crome has the best online support, a few are running Uberdata... Read up at DB7tuner.net they do a lot of f22 builds there

^ Yeah what he said, you may also try moving this post to the "Engine Managment" forum and see what kind of response you get there
