Turbo Exhaust question
I was wondering how much of a difference a larger exhaust would make. I am currently running a 2.25" in the stock locations. I have a 14b turbo on a ZC. Is there a point to upgrading to 2.5 - 3.0" Is it really necessary?? Also what about getting a straight through design vs. the stock loactions. Is the difference going to be that noticible??? Or should I just stick with my current setup?

Re:Turbo Exhaust question
I would say 2.5" is fine. As for stock vs. straight tubing, you'll probably notice less of a difference by going to a straight through design than you would by upgrading your muffler or getting a high-flow cat.

Re:Turbo Exhaust question
Depends on boost application/what dia. downpipe you have.
2.5 will be fine. Upgrade the downpipe/cat setup before you get larger. You really wont see any difference unless you were running 12psi or more of boost. |
Re:Turbo Exhaust question
Well I am planning on running 14psi, I guess my 2.25" just wont cut it anymore. Thanks for the responses.

Re:Turbo Exhaust question
One question i have been wondering and sense its kinda on topic ill ask. Do you need a cat to pass emission? If some im guessing most turbo cars will go with a gutted cat right?

Re:Turbo Exhaust question
Basically with a turbo the bigge the better. for a car like your with such a small engine a 2.5 would be fine. unless youve got like more then 1 psi of back pressure in the system the biggest reward will be faster spool up time.
