Turbo exhaust

I hope to be running around 8 psi late this summer. I am currently looking to redo my exhaust. Are the premade exhaust systems aka Apexi n1 suitable for turbo? or would it be a better idea to run a universal muffler with custom 2.5" mandrel bent piping with a resonator?

TIA
Alex

If your doing an exhaust for a turbo your best doing a 3 inch exhaust. I used a hooker universal muffler and its awesome, very quiet and 0% rice

Yeah it's all up to personal choice for sound, quality, and cost. but I'd recommend getting larger pipes all the way back instead of keeping the stock pipes. there will be a big difference. 3" is a good size like Whitey said.

But if you want to have a complete exhaust system, i would recommend going to an exhuast shop and having them custom make a 3" setup all the way back, no cat, and weld on a free flowing turbo muffler. ;)

Are there any fittment issues with the 3" coming over the rear suspension? I thought I heard of that. Maybe with really low cars? I don't know.

Resonator will give it a deeper tone I believe..as for hurting power, I'm not sure. Anyone have an answer for this?

For the little amount of boost you're running, 3" is a waste unless you plan on boosting a lot more later. 2.5" is perfectly adequate for up to 500 HP according to Maximum Boost. I took all this into consideration when upgrading my setup. I had a speed factor to contend with as well since my other midpipe fell off and I only had my header, a high flow cat and about 2' of pipe for my exhaust. It is a bit loud and the carbon monoxide fumes make me want to pass out on my drive home from work. I bought the OBX midpipe. It's 2.5" mandrel 304 SS and is a direct replacement. It has a resonator built into it as well. I figured for $90 shipped from SSAutoChrome on ebay, I really couldn't go wrong. I know people knock them for the turbo mani's, but the welds on the midpipe look fine to me. I haven't put it on yet, I'll be doing that tuesday or wednesday when I can get over to my buddies garage and use his lift. Right now my midpipe and muffler are in the passenger seat of my car in case I get pulled over or anything ;)

2.5" mandrel bent custom exhaust with a resonator and a universal muffler sound like "bangin" setup. Universal muffler- anyone have any experience with Blitz?

I plan on keeping my 2.25" stainless ITR mid pipe and 2.5" 5zigen fireball muffler. Free flow cat and 2.5" downpipe.
