Turbo engine w/ cam gear?
I have a skunk 2 cam gear on my 91 crx si. stock: you usually set 2 degrees advanced. so when you throw on turbo where do you want to set the cam gear to? i heard if you retard them it will help spool up faster, is this true? or should i just set it back to stock with turbo?

A DOHC will benefit more that a SOHC

Re:Turbo engine w/ cam gear?
stock works good but 2-3 degrees retard give a good push at the high end. try it and see how u like it. ;D

Re:Turbo engine w/ cam gear?
well, it depends on how much you are boosting, and what are you using for engine management. if you are boosting over say 6 or 7 lbs. you will prolly want to retard it a little bit.

Re:Turbo engine w/ cam gear?
ok, so what do the cam gears retard have to do with the ignition retard....whats the diff.??

Re:Turbo engine w/ cam gear?
nothing really, timing is timing, just different ways to adust it.

Re:Turbo engine w/ cam gear?
so you're saying i can just retard my cam gear 2 degrees instead of retarding my timing at the dizzy 2 degrees?!? i thought the dizzy was for the ignition and the cam gear was for the intake/exhaust timing???
