turbo del sol first setup

This is my first setup. I have another block im building right now.Gonna have low CR forged internals and will boost over 14psi. Untuned on 10psi Wg spring but have leak at stock wastegate port so boosting only to 7-8. was only boosting 5psi on 7psi spring. gonna tune on hondata and 450 dsm injectors soon.
---- pulls pretty quick now but stock injectors are choking at higher rpms so i tend to stay away from full boost.
16g DSM turbo
Tial 38mm External Wastegate
Custom manifold
2.5'' Downpipe
2.5''charge pipes
Type RS Blow Off Valve
Front mount intercooler
Vafc (Hondata soon)

it is in the works. already booked for dynotime on the 20th....gonna be fully tuned on hondata. also have spare block im building. any tips on building my z6?? my goals are a high revving high boost setup daily. i know i need forged internals and rods for low c/r and high boost capability

all depends on your budget

Re: turbo del sol first setup

well lets say under 2g for built bottom end. head will be left stockish(maybe cams)

thats what i thought. pistons and rods can be had under 1g. i was looking at tunertoys pistons but the lowest c/r they have is 9.0 for a D. is there not 8.5 available??

Atticus 07-14-2007 01:27 AM

Re: turbo del sol first setup

not sure but you dont want too low comp or you wont have bottom end 9.0 is fine just get a good tune
what turbo you going with

Re: turbo del sol first setup

well right now i have a 16g dsm. might go bigger like a 18g if money permits but i think a 16g will do for now. 9.0 pistons with how much over bore??? i have also heard about block guards if revving past limiter. and im aslo thinking about the ---- that goes on the cylinder block(cylinder walls) forget what it was called.

Re: turbo del sol first setup

dude you first have to figure out your hp goal
personally im going to be shotting for like 300-350 hp
so im going to do a minor build on the block ie vitaras and tt rods
some port work maybe a cam
and then invest in to a bigger turbo
i think i can reach that for under like 2.5 gs

I wouldnt go with an oversized piston if you dont have to, unless you're going to sleve that block, but with a total budget of 2g I dont know if you can squeeze it in. I've got the scatt rods and vitara's, stock sleeves, delta reground cam, T3/To4e 57 trim, shooting for 350-400, maybe upper 200's daily.

You're not going to find a block on this side of the ocean that doesn't need to go at least .25mm over. A full bottom end build shouldn't be more than 1500 bucks, less if you're going with Vitara's.

I bought my z6 in milwaukee with 145,000 miles I just honed it enough to break the glaze, I get .005 with the vitara's, which yeah is a little bit sloppy but it purrs like a kitten and doesnt even rattle a bit. the funny thing is the pistons that came out of it all still had less than .001 wall clearance :l that's some crazy ----.

so your saying that i should go with standard bore??? im gonna go with eagles and srp forged std bore pistons possibly get sleeves done, 16g going for 300hp but at least 200 hp daily driven

Re: turbo del sol first setup

you can do 200 hp daily on a stock block
