Default turbo d16y8

hi guys, i need some help i am looking to boost my y8, my setup so far will be stock 98 y8 ( with backup being built with pistons and rods over winter)

max rev manifold
custom 2.5 " dp
mandrel bent 2.5" exhaust no res no cat
dsm 450's
afc hack
straight t3 turbo
FMIC , ect ect

here is my question , i am gonna run the stock block till it breaks and i know with the afc hack you are stuck around 10-12 pounds but what ecu's are you guys using?
obd1 or obd2? the car is obd2 but would it be worth it to convert? i am gonna in the future use either greddy emanage, or hondata

my friend is running emanage with almost the same setup on a 92 si hatch at around 12 pounds and is putting down 260whp 12.5@111

so would it be worth it to get a jumper harnes and say a 92-95 si ecu?

definately try to find yourself a p28 ecu. and OBD1 it, you don't necessarily need to run hondata or greddy emanage to chip it either, though both are proven reliable. check the ecu and tuning section.

hondata and probably emanage won't work with obd2 so you'd have to downgrade. As for the hack, it doesn't really matter. If you are going that way eventually, I suppose you might as well go ahead, or wait until you are going to have to do some rewiring anyway when you change management... My .02

my philosophy is...
boost first, THEN boost more.

I am in the same boat you are EXACTLY except my Y8 is in a '96 (no difference)

I am gonna boost 8 on the AFC until I have my "backup" motor built, THEN i'll do the OBD1 conversion, when I need to.

at 8 lbs I won't be Fast, but I'll be quick. And that should tide me over ti'll I have abuilt motor.

kewl guys thx, so i should start looking for a virgin p28 just to have. I will prolly go emanage its cheap and it works (like a fancy afc hack lol) hondata is not that expensive but what you have to pay to get it tuned is crazy
