HEY GUYS I NEED SOME INFO FROM MORE KNOWLEDGABLE TURBO GUYS. I AM CURRENTLY FABBING A TURBO KIT TO FIT ON MY "88" S-10 DERRIVED FROM A 86 ISUZU IMPULSE.
BUT HERE COME THE QUESTIONS.
1. WHAT KIND OF BOOST IS POSSIBLE FROM THIS TURBO?
2. SOME TEC TIPS ON HOMEMADE BOOST CONTROLLER?
3. ANYBODY ELSE OUT THERE DUMB AS ME TAKING ON A PROJECT LIKE THIS?
4. WHAT CARS COME WITH A T3? :P

an impulse turbo would be too small. go with the t3 and do some more research but stay on this site. its not hondaturbo.com its homemadeturbo! keep us updated

Woah this is completely not true. This site is for turbocharging anything. If you need help with turbocharging a golf cart, we're hear to help. HOWEVER, you do need to do research, we only answer specific questions about problems not spoon feed information and answer repeat questions.

Do some research and post when you have specific questions.

i wouldnt attempt turbing that particular engine. very head gasket prone blowing coolant oil mixing things going on there. better to swap in a 2.5 or a 2.0 from a sunbird. first itll botl to the 5 speed trannys avaiabale for you truck from gm and secondly the EFI system for the sunbird if you find a turbo 2.0 complete will work out of the box. i wouldnt mess around with that oddball ass isuzu engine its a pile of junk. i do need a boat anchor so if you decide to go the other way and swap in a pre turboed GM motor then ill be glad to take it off your hands ;)

OMG forgive me for saying that statment i wasn't trying to make that the whole state-ment i was just saying thats what most people here have the most experiance doing here. I know we here are about turbo-charging every thing but i m guessing over 70% of the people here have honda's or acura's. Sorry for the confusion.

On the stock 1986 impulse the turbo was capable of boosting pressure's of 7.5psi and 8.7psi for only 3 seconds at peak power! The car ran a ET16.6 or something i will havto double check on that one, but it did make 140hp(at the flywheel i bet)so we will just havto c what happens with the same turbo on a bigger engine ,more boost and lighter package!!

Thanks for the info on the head gasket problem but this is just one of those "I HAVE TO MUCH TIME ON MY HANDS " kinda projects. The truck is actually planned for a V8 but the budget is low and so far i have only spent money on hoses and fittings for this turbo setup. So in other words im just having fun and just waiting to see how much it takes to blow it to smitherines, and if the stupid thing can handle what measly boost i can squeeze out of this shu shu turbo its getting some blue bottle treatment!
sounds stupid but i have alot of fun blowin ---- up and seeing just how much ---- will handle.When all the smoke clears and i lift the hood,if its still atached, i will make sure to post my experiments results, it may be surprising or might be a pile and melt a piston at 3lbs of boost.But the question will still remain. ;D

The VCR ate the fucker ok that means all pow,no mo moto and bildo is cruzing H-town now dayz peel your jap eyes open!
today we had a 1320 cruze. it consisted of a photo shoot at nanimau gardens and continued on to the majestic hilo shore line of keaukaha then on to liliuokalani park for some time for members to get to know each other while walking the beautiful trails and enjoying the fish gardens. We ended the day fine dining at one of popular resturants of H-town(jack in da box)
