turbo chevy colorado
 

hey guys i had a blower for my 3.5 inline 5 chevy colorado but the bearings went south in it so im wanting to change it up a little

so what im looking for is some insight on turbo selection. i have one picked out but im concerned that it is a t3 flange. the max hp im looking at is 400 at the wheels. its probably not going to make that but i would like to have a little head room to grow into. im new here so im not sure what the rules are for posting suppliers out side of sponsers so i copy and pasted the info. basically it is a gt35 knock off. they have on in a .82 ar and a .63 ar. my truck is an auto and has a farly loose converter in it so i think the .82 would work the best dont you?

ive been wanting a colorado for a while now and i planned on doing the same thing. what motor is in your colorado? i use the same turbo on my 06 cobalt 2.2 and it doesnt spool up till 4500 rpm with the 82 exhaust housing. if you have the inline 5 engine then you should be good with the .82ar housing.

It has the 3.5 i5. The newer 3.7 i5 has a small jump in power but you can get them with a 5.3 v8 now

So being that im probably only going to spin it to 6000-6100 rpm I shouldn't have a problem up top right? The small t3 flange just has me wondering. And a t4 has me thinkng its gonna have "supra syndrome " lol

if you want it to spool quickly get the 0.63ar exhaust housing. should spool up around 1500-2000 rpm. the larger 0.82ar housing may spool up around 2500-3000 rpm. t4 turbos are very large and mainly used on v8's.

That is refreshing you are turbo'ing the 5cylinder
