Turbo center Question...
I have a turbonetics turbo the has 4 holes on the
center housing... right now i plugged up 2 holes and the other 2 is the oil feed and other end is the drain. I was wondering wat the other 2 wholes that i covered up where. I was told that that those wholes i can use as water cooling. is that true. is so, does that mean i dont have to leave my car on idle that long atfer i drive if i run a water line through it? |
Re:Turbo center Question...
Right, if you don't have a turbo timer, you will have to sit and let the car idle for a bit.
It's recommended to extend the life of the turbo. |
Re:Turbo center Question...
cool great i'll hook it up then ;D |
Re:Turbo center Question...
dont hook up the water.. Its just more chance of water leaking and causing trouble.. It's not neccesary... Just leave it alone and let the car cool down.

Re:Turbo center Question...
i heard the water part can crack the turbo if u dont time it or something... jus leave it out..

Re:Turbo center Question...

Wat happens if water leaks, it just water... |
Re:Turbo center Question...
If you think that unhooking it when things freeze will work then you are mistaken. You would still have all the plain H2O in the cooling sysytem.
If you run plain watter then you run water wetter, and you live in the south where noone knows what snow is. Hook up your coolant lines to the turbo, it will help cool the turbo durring operation and extend the life of the turbo, and the engine oil also. It will cost you an extra $3 in hose and fittings, highly worth it. Just extend your stock cooling loop. Insert the turbo into the circuit just before the IM. |
