An IHI off a Ford Probe might work :P

rpm's have nothing to do with overboosting. The wastegate controls the speed of a turbine, if it revved to 500 or 500,000 rpm's the boost would stay the same.

ya it would be the same boost if i use a big wg like a 44mm, but im not going to use a big wg just so i can use the worng turbo for the bike

Maybe an IHI, or something off a twin turbo car like a Supra, or a 3000-GT. I dunno what size twin turbo Rx-7's are but you could try them too.

Is your bike carbed? Might wanna look into blow-thru carb setups if it is.

A turbo's usually only overspool if you run them without resistance to the compressor such as no chargepipes. As for overboosting, thats caused by a too small wastegate, not A/R's of the turbine.

If your planning on running a small turbo on a GSXR than your already planning on running the wrong turbo ;)

i agree... wastegate controls boost settings. not size of turbo or how high you rev. big turbo, 38mm wg. and you'll be fine...

Re:turbo bike

basiclly your turbo sizing should be looked at like you have a 1.3L or so.. You only have .6L liters, but it spins twice has fast as most enigines.

My local turbo builder just bought a busa that he specificlly bought to turbocahrge. He's going to use two T-25 turbos from the twin turbo 300zx ( they support 400hp on the 300zx ).

I'm thinking a TD05H-14B would be in the middle. ONE T-25 would be small. And a T-3 would be big.

I'd go with a TD05H-14B, or T3 .42/.48.

I'm a turbo freak, but I'm not sure I'd want a turbo Gixxsa. When the boost comes on, its going to be insane, and I just can't see it being predictable while doing wheelies, high-chairs, and other "power needed" stunts.

You also need to concider the weight. Weight is everytihng to a bike ( almost ), if you plan on racing it..

I've riden 3 different 03' gsx-r600 s, an old ninja 600R, and a 02' gsxr1000 ( no freaken R6 or R1s !!! ). I gotta tell ya, its going to be hard to catch a 1000 !!! That's a scary bitch !! For stunts, I'd buy a gsxr750, for speed a gsxr1000 and both would have a 50shot...

I like pizza...................... and bikes.

if the turbo is so small that it cant hold what the wastegate is set at 10psi (engine sucks all the air before the turbine can replace it) it could overspool.

ive heard of this but it falls into the retardmo class of why did you put that turbo on that engine

Make sure you get a power commander that has ignition capability. I know a lot of guys that have boosted GSXR1000' and 'Busa's and fuel management is a problem. Most of them go with an extra set of injectors.

seriously, put it on the bottle. or get a bigger bike, any liter bike will do.

if you boost the 600, you won't be able to keep that front wheel on the ground if your life depended on it.

Whats your HP goal?

Nah Actually I think Fierogod backed out of that turbo bike plan. He gave me a yell the other day actually and is going to be continuing with the bike soon and doing some pretty sweet stuff to that little Fiero. I'm sure he'll fill in you guy's when the little beast is done. I havn't seen him on HMT much :-\ Wish he'd chill out here more often.
