on the earlier engine make sure the rod bearings arent shot and keep it under 10lbs of boost for the sake of the block and transaxle. if you want to run past 10lbs of boost you need the 88-89 block and an e series transaxle. the e series boxes are 70 lbs heavier, almost twice the weight, than the c series box.
i'm currently doing the same to an aw11. i've ditched the tvis when it was na and ground the tvis plate and intake manifold to blend into the huge intake ports. all gain no loss there.
i made a second fuel rail and injector pockets up the runners a few inches to run 2 injectors/cyl so i can run boneyard injectors with small sizes and still feed the engine. the stock injector pockets take a different style o ring than the typical bosch style. i have the earlier 4age with the smaller rod bearings and less ribs in the block so i wont run more than about 10 psi because aparently the block flexes on the early block after that point.

I have a Locost/Westfield clubman car with a 3 rib early 4age....like yours....have you got yours going? Is it holding together? Has it been worthwhile? I'm thinking of low boost - 8 psi - set up myself.
Cheers
