turbo aveo pt2

ok so i was talking to someone on this site that is not completely against turboing an aveo and he said that (bacause i am going to have problems with fuel management as boost builds)
i could run an msd retard box and an fmu and i am here to get everyones thoughts on this?
the car is a daily driver so it needs to be able to start everytime and not blow up every 3k miles
will the fmu and retard box be sufficient to run 5-8psi (no more than 10-12psi ever, the person that wants the turbo only wanted 5psi but i told him anything less than 8 is useless, lol)
without any worries of major malfunctions?
and yes there will be plenty of monitoring i am planning on running gauges as follows
boost
fuel pressure
turbo temp
tranny temp
oil temp
egt
oil pressure (one on the engine and if it is an oil cooled turbo probubly one on the turbo, idk yet)
and air fuel

is that sufficient? if anyone has any good advice please chime in, any help is much appriciated
also if anyone has any parts cheap i im looking for a turbo still (i have narrowed my search to like 3-4, t25,14b,t3,t3/t4,t3/t04e,18g, but if someone has a good small turbo that will push 8-10psi on a 1.6 without straining i would be interested (also the car has a 6630rpm fuel cutoff so if it dosen't spool quick it will be useless)

thanks for all the help

Oil cooled turbo? :o Just turbo the damn thing, you already "know" how to do it anyway. That way when the car blows up. Your buddy will buy something decent to boost, and he'll never let you touch his car again. its win win.

Heres some good advice, get 2 oil pressure gauges :l

Heres some good info, all turbos are "oil-cooled" you ------- idiot. All turbos are oil fed to lube the bearings. Only difference is some turbos are water cooled but you wouldn't need an OPG for that.

And dont use ------- gauges to initially monitor the setup. Gauges can be innaccurate, thats what widebands are for.

Why did you make another thread showing off your flaming faggotry?

You are worthless, don't ---- up your friend's car.

Re: turbo aveo pt2

or wold it be better to run like 2 stock honda injectors in the intake manny one either a wot switch or a rev trigger (say 2650rpm where you theoreticly start making boost)
would that be better than an fmu?
as i have read any more than 7psi and an fmu is useless and i doubt i can find a dyno tuner than would be able to flash the stock aveo's ecu

or would it be possible to take a honda map sensor and use it together with the aveo's maf sensor (keep the maf so obd2 dosen't trip trouble codes and the map so that it can adjust the ecu according to boost, so the maf would be like inssurance, dose that make sense?)

also dose anyone know if there are any injectors out there that will work on the aveo but are in the 350-450cc range?

and finally would it be best to just spend the money on a standalone fuel system like megasquirt?

would this work?
if so how would i go about converting from maf to map?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GM-1-...spagenameZWDVW

or this?

also is there anyway i can get a fully customizable ecu, i have a laptop and plenty of patiences to tunes it the right way (and it will be "fine tuned" on the dyno after that and i am planning on taking it to the dyno here in a week or 2 so i can get a baseline run with hard numbers so i know what i gained with the turbo setup

that aveo is gonna look like it was made by boeing.....
are you gonna install drop down oxygen bags for when the boost hits?

no the person i am doing it for is kinda weird about "knowing whats going on"
he knows nothing about cars but likes having all kinds of gauges to monitor everything
he just got rid of a 2002 z24 cavalier (2.4L 155hp 5speed, not as slow as it might sound)
and it was stock as a rock and it had the following gauges
vacc. (he said it was "to make sure the exhaust is working)
egt (make sure it is warmed up in the morning, lol)
oil pressure (to make sure i remembered to put a quart in this month (he never chainged oil since it was new and it had 108k miles he just added a quart once a month, hahaa))
and a 5 inch monster tach with a 3 step shift light (1green,1 amber,1 red, they came on at like, 1800rpm,3500rpm,and 5500rpm, and it went to 11k but redline was 5800rpm)

he is weird but a good person

plus i think with the turbo and such the aveo would be the perfect sleeper i mean honda's are not verry good sleepers anymore as everyone knows they can go fast for cheap and everyone knows that aveo's are just for getting good gasmilage
if i had the money(even tho they are ugly) i would buy a prius and throw in like a 4age or whatever the 20valver is that is swaped in to roku's all the time and turbo it (but keep the hybrid system so it would be an amazing sleeper, i mean a 12second street prius that is still a hybrid?, you know howmuch money you would make racing domestic ricers in slowmaros and fagstangs?)
