I'm new in the forum and i'm planning to put some boost on an automatic civic D15B7 with a D16Z6 head, and no other mods, are there any posts about boosting civics with auto trans? i have an IHI RHB5, and DSM intercooler. also AFC hack. everything unistalled. I just want to know if anyone have experience doing this and what results did you have.
oh also if there is anyway of changing shift points because my car shifts on 6400 rpms but now with vtec i would like to go further to 7200....

why would you change shift points that high? i had an auto civic awhile back and it wouldn't shift until i would let the gas out a bit. yours might be differant but just go ahead and boost it.

Word has it you cant push the stock torque converter much past 200 ponies, but 200 hp in a civic is still pretty nice.

 

get a dragon TC they are saposed to dbl your trq

 

boost it and shift manually when you want to red line it.

Should be fine honda auto=weak tranny just pick up a spare incase...and about shift points I don't if thats controlled by the ecu you may be able to chip it and change them but why complain about a high rpm shifting auto tranny

 

Yea boost it, i bought a m/t car just to boost it cause it was m/t, when i already had an auto integra, and now after all is said and done i wish i would have boosted the teg, do it.

 

teg auto trannies blow REAL fast
they shift so damn rough
the civic ones are smoother and handle a tad more power
