Turbo 98 Hyundai Accent - finally complete after a year - FOR SALE
6 Attachment(s)
So excited to finally have this on the road. Here's the basics on the setup thus far.
Hyundai S-Coupe manifold and turbo(Garrett T15) Custom downpipe and exhaust(no cat) Hyundai 2.0L Engine Injectors, MAF, and TB(redrilled to fit 1.5) TurboXS BOV 1:1 Fuel Pressure Regulator E-Manage Blue Need to install the boost gauge before I know how much boost I'm on, I believe the wastegate on this turbo is set somewhere around 5lbs. Also unsure on HP numbers, I need to get it dynoed after this weekend's autocross. Eventuelly I'll be running an intercooler on it as well, the scoupe was non-intercooled stock so I'm not too worried yet. pics!: Attachment 26164 Engine Bay - if you look way down in the lower right corner you can see my catchcan(with the red breather on it) Attachment 26165 top of turbo with oil feed T Attachment 26166 O2 Wires needed an extention Attachment 26167 Attachment 26168 BOV and my wee little odyssey battery(gotta love the weight reduction!) Attachment 26169 fuel pressure regulator comments welcome! |

that oil return makes baby jesus cry. Looks good otherwise

Re: Turbo 97 Hyundai Accent - finally complete after a year
it runs great! idles fine, no check engine light...almost like there's no turbo there(until it spools that is)
The metal line you see is the oil feed, the oil return is in the bottom of the turbo...you can't see it in these pictures...but it comes right out the bottom to a rubber line and back into the pan at a nice 45 degree angle. |

Re: Turbo 97 Hyundai Accent - finally complete after a year
Last time I saw a Hyundai with balls - it was given a complete B16A2 swap/conversion... :1
Looks like it will help move that POS to the point of being fun to drive. :P |

Looks like it will help move that POS to the point of being fun to drive. :P The goal of the car was not to be super fast, I needed more torque out of the corners of tight auto-x courses and downshifting to first isn't always convienent. With this setup I should be able to stop on it at low RPM's in second gear and with the size of the turbo being what it is, it should spool quickly and suit the need. I'll post some pictures of the whole car in a little bit. |

Neat. I like to see uniqe stuff like this. I'm just surprised there's no drama in this thread yet.
What the hell is a T15? It must make a T25 look huge. |
Re: Turbo 97 Hyundai Accent - finally complete after a year
Wow nice man... How stiff are your rear springs? Id imagine you'd need at least 450lb/inch rear springs to really help get rid of understeer (my 85 sedan is running 350s and it prolly needs more, or maybe I should just slow down more in the slow turns)
If its strictly an autox car I guess a T15 will work but maybe later on you could step it up to a T25 to go faster in the straights? I'd think a T25 would still spool relatively quick on a 2.0L.. Should run cooler too |
