turbo for 300whp F23, OG's got any suggestions

my buddy just bought a 99 Accord with the F23A1 SOHC Vtalk for a good deal and we are already thinking turbo. The car blew a head gasket so we gotta pop the head. Not bad for $2K though. We are milling the head a little to raise the CR just a bit since its only 9.2:1 and probably warped but that’s it as far as internals go. And head studs, new belts and gaskets, maybe water/oil pumps too but it only has 60K on the motor

He wants 200whp daily and 275-300 at the track. once in a while. I’ve searched for a while and I think 300whp is possible on a stock block with a good tune.

So the final question what turbo would you guys suggest. I don’t know much about the bigger HMT turbos so somebody chime in.

So far tbird .60 t3 is the most likely candidate but I think it might be too small for 300whp on a 2.3 liter engine Does anybody have any experience with the T28, is it big enough. The plan is to keep it cheap, so t3/t4’s are out cause we aint touching that SSAC ----..

Budget for the turbo is 300 max, also does anybody have experience with the F22-23’s? Please feel free to share

holset hy35w=laggy but powefull and cheap, .48a/r stage III/t04e 46trim= more responsive and still make the power easily moderate priced, and gt28rs=very quick spool 300hp easy but big money.

You wanna ball rock that gm8, make yourself a hmp top mount and take advantage of that nice vband flange... I've heard great things about the f series durability beyond 300whp and I see no reason he couldn't run 250-275 as a daily driver whp range O0

i ran a 63/60 and a 48/60 both spooled up incredibly fast. awesomw low end torque. made more tq than hp. 200/210tq@9psi. i would definately suggest a bigger turbo. that holset looks like a good match

what would spoolup be like for the Holset/Borgwarner turbos, price is right but we dont want to wait till 6k for boost?
Also what is the WHP limit for the tbird t3 .60 , a local guy has one in good condition he is willing to sell relatively cheap good or bad idea?

and props bidydaddyvtec thas a sick ass setup,, cant wait for the ricers to get stomped by a 4door grocery getter
