turbo 22re
will an ihi rbh5 work on a low compresion 22re thats not gonna be reved over 4700 rpm, or is it too small. what would be the ideal turbo for this motor?

Re:turbo 22re
it will work because the small turbos spool up fast you engine not going to reved over 4700 since you not inthe high rpms a big turbo would do nothing for you...

Re:turbo 22re
my friend just built a 22re and is using a t3/t4....why the low revs?

Re:turbo 22re
i stick with low revs cause right now im squeezing a hundred shot, and its faster when i keep the r's under 5000, except in 5th, then I let it all hang out. I plan on dropping the nitrous down to about a 50 shot when the turbo setup is installed.

Re:turbo 22re
hey what kind of exhuast manifold setup are you using on your 22re?

Re:turbo 22re
just curious does the 22re manifold from the toyota tubo truck work on any of the 22re motors?
that's a CT26 turbo too right? |
Re:turbo 22re
Im planning on using an equal length maniflod that I fabbed up. its almost completed I just have to weld on the turbo flange. Im not sure about the manifold from a factory turbo 22r. I know there around but i have never worked on one or know the facts about them.

Re:turbo 22re
i have a celica and the manifold will bolt up but it wont physically fit in the engine bay. I believe it will bolt up on 22re engines from 85-95. Also, the turbo on them are ct20, not the ct26 which were found on supras.

Re:turbo 22re
My 77 reved past 7000 last year with a T3, felt like a 16 valve. Going twin mitsu turbos this year.
