Turb while keeping A/C compressor

I am deeply researching boost and I want to boost my sol, D16z6. I don't want to do anything extreme, really all I'm looking at is getting to around 170 whp, so a smaller turbo will do.

Anyways, can anyone give me an ideal setup for me that could possibly keep my AC?

it all depends on the style manifold that you use, you have to research, because I bought a manifold that promised to keep ac,and it did not I had to remove even the condensor to get to fit,and it I decide to use the external wastegate I would have to relocate my radiator, so ask the companies before you buy. I think greddy is good for ac, also drag gen.

RPI has the Greddy kit for $1500 and it will work with AC I'm trying to figure out the same thing with mine but mine a z6 in a crx so it alittle tighter, NP with a sol though tones of room to play

i think i can fit mine no prob, got a ihi rhb5 with the crx hf manifold... well i don't have them but seeing them looks like no prob.. i'm putting the turbine side on the driver's side.. not like the other way people are doing.. it should clear the fan and the compressor

Re:Turb while keeping A/C compressor

I have eyeballed my IHI setup on my Y7 and it looks like a close fit to the AC. I rotated the setup so the turbine was on the passenger side and I THINK this will work out better. Either way the setup come within a few inches of he compressor, but wheras the DP needs no extra room, the turbo housing needs a pipe coming off of it and I dont think the pipe would clear the compressor. I would be very interested to know if anyone has tried this.

Thanks for the link, however, the kit is way too expensive. This site is all about building it yourself anyhow, so lets go along that path.

But it seems like the IHI is the best bet as far as maintaining the AC, what are these turbos stock accuated at?

Re:Turb while keeping A/C compressor

7-8psi or so.. they are good.. in way better cond then those t-25 etc... it spools fast.. i still think i can fit everything without moving stuff.

people here usually mount their turbo quite far from the block with the hf manifold, and the manifold has such a big hole, you can mount it closer to the block and toward the pass side... i'm pretty sure i can fit the DP, cuz the turbine is going to be on the driver side and it's right in the middle of the manifold so i got lots of room.. i don't care, i only need a 2.25 or 2" downpipe.. 7psi isn't going to kill anything..

and plenty of room for the comp side on the passenger side.,. no prob there

The IHI is actuated at 8 I believe.

2000, keep me posted as to how your test fit goes and I will do the same. I have the kit but I have to wait for the wife to go out of town to work on the car, she cant handle all the swearing : >:(
