Default Traction/Cheapness idea

Well i stripped second gear being a dumbass with my si trans and im gona pick up a dx trans cheap.

My idea is to use the dx trans but replace third and fourth gear with the gears out of my si trans.

in theory it should give me longer first and second for a bit better traction (since with the si trans they are usless gears anyway.)

and when i can grip in thrid and fourth it will be the shorter si gears, with the dx 5th for highway cruisin.

All critcizim welcome if you know if the gears are even interchangable, and if only certain ones are let me know befor i rip both trans apart. thanks.

Would be a lot of work to put the same ratios back in. If you look up the specs on the trannys the forward gears are the same the reason the SI trans is so short is because of the final drive.
