Toyota CT-26 (NSFW)
they're ----. non standard oil, coolant, and flanges. While having not so good of a lifespan.
Both the ct26's on the 3s-gte are complete crap next to either large t3, and the ct26a is a joke. t3/t4 hybrid owns them in every way, might aswell save yourself trouble across the board and buy a t3 60/82 if you want an equivilant turbo.
gah, i'd rather have an mhi and i hate those ------ turbo's

i concur, CT26 is crap.
The turbine housings cracks in a way that's very hard to repair,
The thrust system is weak making it vulnearble to failure when used on any performance application, including on the supra itself!
Yes it may kind of work on many custom application but it's less reliable, more expensive to fix and to upgrade than most other turbos, and once you have decided to go with that, you're caught with it because your manifold, downpipe, oil and water lines will accept only this turbo.

Keep in mind this is hmt, the turbo is free and in decent shape. He wont be paying any labour so if the turbo will work decent He will rock it, if its not going to spool worth a ---- then he needs to do something else.
ct26 are cheap to upgrade for about 500$ you can upgrade a ct26 to a 57trim or a 60trim now the 60 trims don't live that long generally 20k-30k max but the 57 trims are very strong and last but ya there not standered t3 or t4 turbos so must people don't like them because there harder to fit into there setups

Honestly Ive delt with all forms of the CT26 on multiple cars and engines, and always had turbo related problems. There are better solutions out there unless you absolutely dont have any money to spend, the CT will be more trouble than its worth. my $0.02
