tough one
My friend has a 99 v6 ford contour we are thinkin that a t3/t4 turbo would be the best for the car if it was to be turboed if its even possible what would it take to turbo the contour?

use a T4 (TO4B)....and dual feed that sucker.

Re:tough one
the greatest challenge is in the manifolds and cross-over pipe.
2 volvo/garrett .42/.48 turbos sound like a good TT set-up, but its going to take a $$$$ turbo to provide air to a 3.0L v6. And of course there is the problem of it being a ford. My focus has broke 2 trannys and its bone stock down to the factroy air filter. The contour motor will break easily. Even the dura-tech cougar V6s break when you add power. Not to say that adding pistons, rods , other $1000's of dollars in mods that its couldn't make a lot of HP and not break, but the idea of turboing a contour isn't a very good one, IMO. FORD = :-X Honda, toyoda, nissan = 8) Its not an "import" vs "dom." thing with me, I love buick GNs, LS-1s, and other dom. cars, but the build quality in general is MUCH GREATER in the imports. Would you ever think on putting a 320 shot on a stock chevy built 5.7L ? I put a 75 shot on a 75hp honda motor and never had one problem. I know its not a fair comparision, but adding turbos, nitrous, or S/C to a Maxima/Altima, Camry/Solara, or Accord/Civic sounds like a fair idea to me, but I wouldn't add any of those things to a Grand-am ( unless its the GTP ) or a contour/Tanrus. It can be done, but its not worth it at all. A stock mustang could still wax a turbo'd contour. |
Re:tough one
Maybe this may help..it's not a ford, but it's a turboed V6...it could give you some either how to mount a single T4 turbo http://tiago.phxchevy.com/

Re:tough one
My friend with the contour has a nx nitrous kit on the contour running a 75 shot and he wastes mustangs all day long so mustangs arent a problem and with even a modest turbo kit he could completly demolish a mustang
