Too big?

Will I have too much Lag with this??? About when will it start spooling?
I am not very good with the A/R numbers yet.... I bought it and got it today...and it looks HUGE....then i found out it is off of a 6.5 liter diesel ....the guy who sells them says he puts them on lots of H22 hondas....here are the specs...is it too big? I have a 2.4 Litre engine and plan on running about 7 PSI.
Brand: Borgwarner / IHI
Model: 51T-32
Size: T3/T04E
Compressor A/R: 0.7
Compressor trim: 46
Turbine A/R: 0.6
Turbine trim: stage II
Flange type: standard T3

thanks guys

I imagine if it's off a 6.5 liter turbo diesel, the lag would be really bad.

---- bro i dont know, got pics of it? it may spool if the motor is built pushing some good psi of boost ???

Re:Too big?

I can get pics of it...but I dont see that helping much....I need someone who knows there a/r #'s..... I hope to find out soon so I can return it if it is too big....

This is actually a tough one but I'm going to say your fine. The turbine is fine and has a small trim. I'd say go for it, its a T3 so its not like you have to change your manifold to run a different turbo. With those specs you'll put out some good power.

---- lag it only causes wheel spin, that turbo will push some good top end and you want top end if you want to have useable power

Re:Too big?

I know it will have awesome top end....but I drive a domestic so I dont get the 8000 redline :D
Now...i was thinking...the turine is .6 a/r ...so isnt that like a super 60? :-\ which lots of people run and are very happy with....

I can live with a 2500-3000 rpm lag....but I dont want much more...and some people said it will spool about 5000 rpm :o

so keep the knowlege coming ;D
thanks

Re:Too big?

The only thing it has in common with a super 60 is the .60 turbine. But the specs are SOO much different thats like comparing...can't think of an analogy but 2 things that are completely different :-\

Re:Too big?

Also top end is not RPM specific, its a measure of your powerband. Top end is the upper part of your powerband, midrange is the middle, ect. So for my 11,000rpm top end would be the same as your 4000rpm top end

but that with the small trim should make spool times okay shouldnt it?

Re:Too big?

well, its a stage II wheel, with a .6 A/R like you said, so i'm guessing spool times won't be that bad. 46 trim compressor is a bit small, but that compressor housing is ------- huge! if it turns out to be too much lag for you, i'm assuming you can just swap down to a smaller housing...

^^^^^^^^agreed ;)

Re:Too big?

a bigger housing just gives you more top end and eliminates the HP loss caused by the backpressure (don't know the technical term but allows you engine to breathe more and create more power).

Stop asking questions, put the ------- thing on your car and your going to be happy with it. It'll make good power and stop caring about lag or spool time, it'll make your car go fast and thats all that matters.

hahahahah.....alright....its just that I probably would be able to trade it in for another if this was going to be too big....but thanks for all the info guys...
