Timing problem *Update*
 

after my 170hp at 7 psi on a b18 dyno, I discovered it was my timing. It was way too retarded. My base timing was a 8degree. The problem as of now is I can't advance it up anymore, the distributor is all the way turned to advance. Could my distributor be the cause of this?

Your timing belt may be off a tooth. Put the crank pulley at tdc and see if the cam gear mark is straight up. If not you need to take off the timing belt and put it back on with the cam gear straight up and the crank on tdc. Then try to set the timing.

After you check cam timing, and its ok. Just try a different distributor. I had one do that as well.

I get weary thinking about taking my valvcover off to see the pulleys :( I don't have any sort of tourqe tools to put it back.

huh? torque tools? you just need a 10mm socket to take the valve cover off so you can see the Tbelt/cam gears.

Then you match the marks on the cam gears with the mark on the crank pulley to the timing belt cover.

Not that anybody give a rat's ass, but I wanna do this incase somebody run into the same problem. The distributor was at fault, it's amazing what 10degree of timing can do to you. After replacing my distributor, got my WB fire up and I went for quick cruise, it felt much better and I can already hear my bov at 2.5k, meaning i'm building boost much quicker than with way-retared timing.
