tightened bov lower boost?

i tightened my turbo xs rfl with six washers and on a holset wh1c on a ls the boost went from 20 psi to 18 psi and the turbo makes more whisling noises under normal driving conditions..it still spools slower than a mofo but why would tightening the blow off valve lower boost? i figured if it was leaking it would go up

6 washers? jesus christ. i was maintaining 24psi with no leaks without using any washers.

you should at most be using 1 washer. sounds like your bov is stuck partially open. take it apart and lube the brass slide witha bit of grease, and remove at least 5 of those washers.

so you think leaking boost would raise boost pressure? haha you just made my night

if it was stuck open wouldnt boost be fluctuating from 20 and 18 depending on when it wants to get stuck? maybe its not even bov related but im too lazy to take the washers out haha...
