tial wastegate flange question

Hey guys just wondering how the valve seat on my 38mm tial is supposed to seal against the flange? It is raised above the rest of the flange a little bit so the wastegate doesn't sit flush against the manifold. Is the gasket supposed to make up the difference? It doesn't seem like the valve seat should sit up above the flange like it does....thanks in advance.

aren't you talking about that valve seat? If so that's the part that is sticking out, if i set the wastegate on a flat surface, it sits on the valve seat and nothing else, i'm just confused how it is supposed to sit against the manifold?

It's all good, that's normal. Just tighten the bolts down and you're set.
