Default For Those That RUN Catchcans...

This is more for the catchcan expierenced

I have a lot of pics that I will post later when I have time, but I was curious about a few things after my first catchcan set-up and it's first full oil change life (3K miles). There is oil vapor all around the can and it's very dirty. The can contains oil/liquid that is easily noticable. There is a white foam in the can also like microwaved marshmellows or something. The hose is really discolored 8inches to the can. These are all things I have pics of and I was curious if this was all normal. I also cleaned my car inside and it dirtied the rag pretty good probably due to the vapor coming in the car. So do you all just run the vents on recirculate?

Now my BIGGEST concern. It's time for an oil change, and I'm about a quart low and I was wondering if the catchcan really allowed THAT much oil vapor out in 3K miles time. I never burned oil, I have no blue smoke, and the car runs VERY strong/healthly. Did you all notice a lose in oil when the can was active? It makes sense you would. Oh yea, and I'll get the pics up, but I think my BOV might be sucking in some vapor due to its closeness to the can. Bad?

Thanks for reading this long boring thing, but it has slight concern to me and I was curious of all of your expierences and advice on this. Thanks again, fellas!!!

I have a line from the valve cover to the can and a line from the PCV pulled off the intake mani and ran to the can while the vaccum spot on the mani is then plugged. Here are all the pics I took.

put a breather on ur valve cover
put a slash cut on ur midpipe(search h-t for slash cut pics)
put a one way valve on the line that goes from the slash cut to the sealed(no breather filter) can
attatch the other line to the black box behind the block
DONE

u can do a straight line to the slash cut from the black box with an inline valve but i like to see collect what is being sucked out for engine health referencing

Cool. Thanks, I'll have to search that, but what's wrong with my set up and is it normal to lose oil with a catchcan like I have?

Whoa, slash cut I'm reading is in the exhaust? I'm not really down with that and I don't really feel like running a pre-turbo set-up either. Man, I'm like a whinny baby asking for help and not listening I know. LOL.

oil goes two places when you lose it in considerable amounts
combustion chamber or water jacket

I was told it's COMMON to lose a quart in a Honda V-TAK motor then to add the catchcan that obviously is working makes my new discoveries normal and fine. Do you agree? What about my BOV being RIGHT next to my catchcan. I figure it's okay because it was hooked up to the intake mani before so it might indirectly get a LITTLE in the BOV opening during vaccum/idle. Not during boost though so we're good. Good reasoning? I'm thinking out loud here, and what you say now thinking about it, the combustion chamber is where it's being lost is what I believe he told me and not to worry about. That this was healthy/normal.

I lose a quart every oil change. I dont have a can per se, I just have my black box and valve cover hooked to a pre-turbo tube so I suck all the pressure out and burn it. Tube under rad hose... My lack of catchcan causes the crap to spray all over my block but whatevs.
