thinking about buying a cam...

My setup is in my sig,

anyone have opinions on a cam upgrade over stock? Their expensive and true to hmt fashion, i wanna get the most for my dollar ;D i heard zex 59300 or something for the turbo cars...

I'd go with the 59300 if I was building a Z6. They also have a 59500, Zex Man was using that in his race car. So you might want to look into that as well.

u think its worth it to buy it though? I don't wanna get it if its gonna give me 15hp or something. I'd rather turn the boost up

I fear the ZEX cams though. Seen to many break. Rock a COMP Cams or a Delta.

I will be using Delta ZC Re-Grinds.

Re: thinking about buying a cam...

i heard regrinds arent good for engines with rocker arms. I'll have to dig up that article on the reasoning behind it. The "zex" cam on ebay was actually made by comp. Anyone actually own an aftermarket cam for a d series?

Well if you get the Zex Cam I would also get a bigger throttle body 60-62mm and I would also look into getting a good intake manifold (I like the edelbrock if you don't want a custom sheet metal). Getting your head to breath a little better will make a huge difference in your powerband, it will also allow you to rev higher, which is always good since our shitty motors redline at 7k.

i have most of that already. I didnt list the little ---- in my sig. I have a b16TB and a y8 intake manifold (not too much better than the z6 but its a start) and as far as head breathing... i worked that a little myself

I am thinking about building a sheet metal one out of my old z6, The lack of an IACV kinda sucks because my car is my dd

Re: thinking about buying a cam...

You can always fab up an adapter to accept the IACV

This thread has some good info in it... http://forums.evans-tuning.com/viewtopic.php?t=92

A lot of people are using that Zex cam too, just search honda-tech for dyno sheets.
