Testing External Wasgate Opening
hrm that subject was kinda lame but whatever :-X
so you wanna find out what psi your external wastegate opens fully at. heres some info on how to do this. so heres what i did. i took an old holley fuel pressure gauge that i had laying around and some brass fitting, and put it in the WG hole, bottom one. http://www.shortyz.net/turbo2/wg/wg2.jpg i used my small compressor and barely pumped it up and hooked it up to the rubber hose seen here http://www.shortyz.net/turbo2/wg/wg4.jpg now when the WG is full open u read the gauge and u know when the wastegate will open. simple. any questions post em |

Re:Testing External Wasgate Opening
you dont need pics just read what he had to say and use some common sense.
apply pressure to the wastegate spring via some sort of air compressor using a gauge to watch exactly what psi the wastegate arm starts to move at. its not that difficult |
Re:Testing External Wasgate Opening
OHHHHHHHHHHH
so i just hook up a compressor with a PSI guage and attach that to the vacuum line of the WG right? the line that hooks up to your intake manifold vacuum source right? |

If your like me and just want to know what PSI your gates opening at.
And dont have a compresor or the Holey gauge. Just driv arround in the car and see what PSI the needle starts to fluter at. Under boost. Thats your WG opening. came here from FAQ. Still looking. |
