TEO4H, tdo4h, and m10 help me out! on this

Alright guys I'm confused. I keep reading about which of these was on the old chrysler cars. I have this turbo its marked as an m10. Are some of them the same turbo with a different name?

I know its a 42/48 AR & compressor but I cannot find any other info on these things. I've heard you can run them to 17 psi and some ppl on here say they are inefficient after 8 psi.

Helpt straighten me out here if you could....

It does have a chrysler flange on it but its a garrett(at least the compressor housing is) not a mitsubishi teo4h.What car do you have?

I realize its a T3 I was just unsure since I keep seeing people refer to chrysler turbos as all of these names.

The car is a 96 sunfire gt... 2.4 litre auto

well like i said before it does have a chrysler flange on it.The reason i noted it was not a teo4h is becouse those turbos spool super fast but they max out at like 4-5k rpm.It does look like a really small turbo though.Whats the redline on that car?

Re:TEO4H, tdo4h, and m10 help me out! on this

Redline is about 5600 rpm

Will it not pull very well after 5k? Errrr go figure lol

That migh be ok for your car since it has a lower red line. Those turbos come off of annything frome a Dodge Caravan to a Chrysler lebaron. It looks to be in good shape though. If i were you I would give it a try as long as you can make an adapter plate for it if your turbo manni. has a t3 flange on it.That way if it dosent boost to your needs you can get a regular t3 with a flange on it...........or you can proabably weld a t3 flange on that one!

the lebarons came with the te04h and the chrysler new yorkers came with the t3 as seen in the pic...i welded a hf manifold to one of those and runs just fine
(both were port matched)

full boost at 4300 and pulls all the way to 7k

too much lag for my 1.5 imo, i were you...id go with the te04h

The TEO4H came on Non-intercooled cars mostly Dodge/Mitsubishi cars like the D-50 truck Laser etc. the wastegate should be set at 8 psi. the canisters are small and will not hold much more than 14psi.

Type 2 intercooled cars came with the M-10 if they were a 2.2l

The last type was for the 2.5l Daytona and Caravan. IT should say VNT (varible nozzle technology)on the casting - These were pretty cool! The fins in the turbine side were hinged in some way so that at low rpm's they acted like a small turbo and spooled fast and as the speed increased the fins expanded.

Pretty cool! you can find those on E-bay sometime just search for Dodge VNT.

that turbo in the pic is a legit Garrett t3 .42/.48

it wil work just fine and provide plenty of power. if it were a te04h, it would definately run out of breath, especially on a 2.4L
