This is what I got

So I tore down the ebay turbos.... The smaller cartridge turbo on the right feeds the bigger cartridge turbo on the left. Notice the HUGE exhaust manifold on the right turbo.



The pictured turbo is quite large, the turbine is 72/86 and the inducer is 62.5/108....

The small one, which feeds the big one, has a GIANT exhaust housing, but the turbine itself is quite small. 62.23mm/69.85mm and the inducer is 50/73.66mm.

And is tucked into this HUGE manifold! This manifold is variable vane controlled.

The interesting and possiblly good thing is that the cartridge itself appears to be adaptable to a much smaller and usable exhaust housing..... just need to do some research....

On an interesting note, in the world of diesel pickups, the primary turbo in that setup "the large one for everyone who can't figure that out". Has the same size compressor as a mild single turbo upgrade. As both the duramax and the cummins use 60mm compressor wheels stock.

Now towing twins which are considered the small twins of the world they are there for fast spool up, and good towing manners. The primary starts in the 70mm range, with the secondary being in the 56mm to 60mm range.

So what this tell us is that is that those "twins" are purely there for for emissions, and that is all. The reason the secondary has such a big exhaust housing on it, is that with out it that motor would choke its self in a 2000 degree egt melt down the first time you stepped on the throttle.

To turbo something, duh..... :P

Nah, I hope to use one of them to turbo something, the bigger one may be good for the twincharge setup, or if I ever get the flat-6 going, then it definately would work for that. The smaller cartridge turbo, if I can find a working exhaust housing for it, is basically a big gt28ish turbo, so would be great, if I can find the working exhaust housing. The diameter of the exhaust cartridge is 2.75", and was fit via a matching plate to the uber-large housing, so i bet it will fit a bunch of crap, just need to test and fit.

Or find a way to mount the large variable housing in the car and use it that way. That should spool stupid fast if you can control it. Vhat kind of actuator does that thing use?

I wish I know what that came off of exactly.
