Okay i bought a TD04l for $60 from my buddy (has 10k miles on it)

I need to clock the middle because if i dont the return line is going to be horizontal.

to clock it you need to remove the snap ring on the comp housing and clamp on the exhaust housing

I already took off the clamp

Now i gotta get me that tool... ebay here i come

Also will this just turn the middle section or the whole exhaust housing?

One more thing... what is the external gate set to? is it 1/2 bar or 1 bar? Becuase I looked around and saw people we're only hitting 7 because the wrx has a boost controller basically. Just making sure

Set at about .5 bar and you'll need a huge set of snap ring pliers.

I just did it today on My te04H ( same stuff) each section has guide pins and the bearing housing has only one hole for it to go into in order to clock it any other way you would have to drill a new hole in the bearing housing to place it where you want. So you need two holes one on each side. There tiny so it shouldn't be that hard. I took mine apart in about 6 hours without snapring pliers just using a flat head screwdriver needle nose pliers and a chisel. ( in other words buy the pliers it will only take a half a hour.)

just grind the guide pin off...don't bother w/ drilling another hole. get the biggest and best snap ring pliers you can find. i went through 2 pair (one cheap and another more expensive) and it was a big pain in the a## because i didn't get the mack daddy pliers.

stock wg is around 6-7psi. after boost drop through the fmic/piping i was hitting 5.5-6psi on my setup.
