I must have missed it on the search..... so here I go.

I just want to know the specs of the turbo that came off from an older Talon TSi AWD auto. I went to a junkyard and pulled it off. It has a stamp on it: TD04. Does anybody know the trim size of this turbo? How capable is this boost peak wise? I was told that it is a 13B. Is that correct? I appreciate your time.

 

The 14b turbo is good for about 15psi so I would think that the TD04HL/13G is only good for about 11 or 12 psi but i not exactly sure.

 

the TD04 has an 11b compressor, not sure of the a/r, but the turbine inlet is a 4 cm^2 inlet (0.40 a/r?). This turbo spools very fast on a 1.6L but dies out at about 5500rpm, wayyyy tooo sooooon IMO. Internally gated at 8 psi. They can push about 10 psi before blowing hot air.

TD04-13G = older auto DSMs
TD04L-13T = awd WRXs
TD04-9b = Stealth/3000GTs

If you dead set up using this turbo, port it first.

 

I appreciate everybody's reply. This will not be for my car. I already have a turbo set-up. I'm actually thinking about slapping this on a CRX HF. The turbo is in a very great condition and no shaft play. Since I now know that the wastegate is set at 8 psi, that is even better. Thanks again

Not on a HF motor. 8 valves = no go !!
A friend of mine put a JRSC on his 255K mile HF WITH a 55 shot of zex and the car was still pretty slow, but it NEVER BLEW UP !!

There are MANY tdo4's some nice some not.

the smallest tdo4H i would use is a 13T, then the 15t can do 300hp and the 19t can do the same at alot less boost..
