I bought a tb0356 today, that says "airresearch" only, no garrett anywhere. The exhaust is .48 but I cant find anything on the intake side. It's definitly got a T3 style flange. where would I look to find out more about a specific turbo? Like the A/R, and the boost map for it?

Called the last owner, saab 9000. So I'll start there. . The intercooler and some kind of electric boost controller came from the saab too. Now All I need to know is the compressor size.

 

Jesus has that been sitting on the side of a guys house for like 6 months or what? nasty rust, does the wheel even spin?

 

For some reason, my camera really exaggerated the colours of the housings. Yes, it spins nicely. Very little shaft play.

 

It looks like A/R 42. I think the wastegate is set at about 5psi.

 

Saabs use somekind of boost controller knock controller thing..
it's called APS or something like that...it raises boost to a factory set boost level and when it detects knock it lowers boost..something like that
