Default Is a t4 turbo too big for a DOHC ZC engine?

I am planning on running around 6psi of boost on the stock internals, and I am looking for hp to be around 200 or so, the ZC is around 140. My question is, is the T4 turbo too big to spool up quickly for that low amount of boost? I may, at some point, replace the internals w/ forged pistons & rods, and upping the boost.

Way overkill. If your goal is only 200hp you should look into a turbo about half that size.

Not to mention the horrific boost lag you will get from that big of a turbo.

A t3/t4 is an option, but a straight t4 is going to be hard to push with a stock ZC.

hey man, welcome to homadeturbo. yeah a straight t4 would b way overkill for ur goal and it would have way too much lag. i would probly go w/ a 14b or a t3 turbo. you wouldnt get that bad of turbo lag and u would probly hit 200 horsepower. and read around the turbo projects on the homepage...they have some turbo zc's there.

And just to clarify .......yeah dude unfortunatly it would be overkill. That is a turbo you would use for higher boost. Like Jeff said, a T3/T4 would be good but not too efficient. And be careful with that stock ZC, those internals can get grumpy if not fed a good supply of fuel.

Word of advice....drop in some low compression(8.5:1) forged pistons with good fuel and then play with more boost.

Im running a DOHC ZC with a 14b, the car is yet to run, so I cant tell you how it is. Im expecting alittle more lag than usual but I wanted it to pull hard to redline.

t3 should be just fine. remember that not only HP at max RPM count.. its also good to have some pull before 5K RPM

Yeah ...I agree, a t3 would be just fine...look for something with a .48 ar hot side..unless you like to wait forever for boost...anything from a .48 to a super 60 compressor should get you to 200 hp easy...
