T4 Turbo T04B too big?
hey i was wondering if a turbo with the Turbine A/R of .96 and compressor A/R of .60. Borg Warner T04B turbocharger S trim. Would it be a bit too big for a JDM B16a SiR II motor? Would it lag much?
And where can i find a downpipe housing for this? And what flange do i use? http://www.turboxpress.com/sales/borg3.jpg http://www.turboxpress.com/sales/borg2.jpg http://www.turboxpress.com/sales/borg1.jpg |
Re:T4 Turbo T04B too big?
holy ---- dude, that has an exhaust ar of .96, that ---- is for a rotary or something that puts out a ton of exh gas, on hondas u usually have a smaller exh than compressor. unless you want some super lag dont put that thing on.
you can get any flange made at an exhaust shop with a flange gasket. You should just put that thing on for a run or two and see if u can even get it to make boost. If it does it will be damn close to redline, and be barely anything but it will make serious hp b/c that thing puts out huge cfm. What is that turbo from? I can't see a reason for such a big exh wheel unless u have a big engine and dont want a lot of boost, like a tractor or something. |

ZexRex I was just about to say ... Holy ----, but you said it first.
Damnn that's big. |
Re:T4 Turbo T04B too big?
perfect size, for my RX-7, i have a 1.15 though, for b16as i think a .60 would be the largest if you want a good power band.

Re:T4 Turbo T04B too big?
Indeed, looks like a diesal turbocharger, I also see it on ebay? what 300 bucks or something?
A downpipe, well I dont know if I have seen a flange for that style or not, the normal 4 bolt flange will be to small. I am sure someone is making flanges for it. But, it is a bit overkill for a b16a, Jeff |
