Default T3 turbonetics turbine housing numbers don't match

Ok, I'm sure your tired of my questions but I can't find much of anything about this question out there. My turbine housing has 20359 cast on the outside of the flange but has 48 cast into the flange. According to the turbonetics catalog the 48 A/R housing should be 20357, the .63 is 20358 and the .82 is 20376. When I searched I found one post on here with a guy that knew he had a .82 housing but the only proof he had was the numbers which don't match up to anything I can find. So, which numbers do I trust? The write up I read somewhere I can't find again said the A/R was cast into the inside of the housing "intake" flange. This turbo came from blaast and the only options they offered on it was the .48 and the .63. So, do I trust that it is a .63 like the guy s got it from says, do I trust the .48 and be happy with it, or do I consider it might be a .82 and throw it away. Or do I grind all the nubmers off off of it and write what ever the ---- I want it to be on the sid eof it with a paint pen and hope for the best. I wouldn't know any better anyway. If it lags too much I'd just think the whole turbo thing wasn't so great after all. Any help wound help a lot. P.S. I'm hoing it's a .48

Also, Blaast said that you can trust the .48 but the other numbers are not always right, but he wanted a pic of it to be sure it was what I wanted.

this happens sometimes, but i wouldnt worry about it.

or call up turbonetics themselves, did you get the unit from them direct?

or was it built by some half-***'d "turbo company" that uses someone else's parts..

its a .48 stg III housing. I think mine has the same #'s cast onto the outside. They didnt match up when i checked either. I know mine is definatly a few years old, turbonetics probably changes their stock #s when new turbos come out and ----.

Ok, if it is a stage III, how do I tell what stage the wheel is?

The guy I bought this from (hey Zack) did not seem to know exactly what he had and hasn't realy answered any of my questions completly. He told me exactly what is was before I bought, but then when I got it, I saw that things didn't add up correctly. The more I learn about it, the more I want to use it, but with a .48 turbine housing.
The Blaast page that shows this turbo says that it has stage 1 wheels. Blaast told me I wanted stage 1 1/2, so I guess he knows what he did to it or something. I'm going to take some pictures of the housing and turbine wheel tomorrow to send to him.

Today I found the compressor maps for this one and it plots very well for what I want. It a little too far to the left at 3000 RPM but not at the surge line and I don't think it will be spooling at that point anyhow. But if there was extra work done to it, the the map I was using isn't accurate and I have to just "see" I guess. Other than turbo failure, is there any tell tale sighs of running at or under the surge line?

Thanks guys and sorry to keep asking questions. I tend to spend a lot of time in the planning stage but I'm not one of those guys that just keeps asking and never does anything. Once the weather breaks and I can start riding my SusuZuki to work and I get some tax money, the turbo is going in. I"m pulling the exhaust off tomorrow and mount the manifold/turbo so I can sizez everything up and see what room I have to work with. I'll take pictures and measuremetns and put a mock-up air filter to see what will fit or if I can run some pluming to a filter behind the headlight or something. I also need to see how much room I have between the turbine housing and the A.C. compressor. I wanted to run 3" pipe to the cat to see if it helped with the lag, but I don't think I have room. I like to find this stuff our before I order parts, but also like having the parts to finish it when I start. I'm sure I will have to make changes to the plan once it is actualy being installed, but hopefully it will be small stuff. Not the "air filter is hitting the rad fan", or "the down pipe wants to run through the ac compressor" type crap.

Thanks guys
