Default T3 Adjustable Wastegate

I have an adjustable wastegate on my T3. The wastegate is set at 10 PSI from the seller. I don't want to run that much on my daily driven car so I was wondering if the setting on my wastegate was for the least amount of boost. Here is the picture:

So your saying that with the setting I have now it is at 0 PSI, or are you saying that my wastegate is adjustable from 0 to 10 PSI?

got it from down2turbo off ebay. I understand your directions, but if I loosen the nut all of the way, what is the least amount of boost it will make.

This is what you do:
1-Loosen the jam nut on the wastegae arm.
2-Pop off that "c" clip that holds the wastegate arm to the flapper.
3-once you pop the C clip off pull the arm off the wastegate flapper. If the arm pulls back into the wastgate then it was set at 10 psi.If you pop it off and nothing happens then the wastegate is set at the lowest possible setting(usually 5psi).

To raise the boost you turn the screw a little. This will shorten the arm.So now you have to pull it out of the wastegate to put it on the flapper.By pulling on the arm to put it on the wastegate flapper you are compressing the spring inside, and thats what raises the boost.

Hope that helps.

ok, i did everything you said d16forlife, and when i pulled the arm off the flapper nothing happened. So, by what you said the wastegate was set at 5 PSI(roughly). In order for me to increase the boost a bit, I would shortened the rod and tightened the nut and have the flapper closed?

-or-

Is there any possiblilty that the wastegate was set at 10 PSI and instead I should make the rod longer and have the flapper open just a little bit?

Yes, I am going to clock my turbo as well as my compressor housing.

As for the wastegate, i extended the arm and allowed the flapper to be open a bit to decrease the boost.

If that wastegate is set for 10 psi with no presure on the spring(wich I dought) you cant lower it anny more. There is nothing you could do to lower the boost on that thing. The spring inside is made so that it will hold till the diaphram is sucked(compressing the spring)at 10 psi.You would have to get one from like a Saab or a Volvo. Those are set at 5-7 and will go *** high as 12(ECU threw me a code at 12 ).

With a turbo like that(t3) and the wastegate set that high on a D series you can hold the boost at what ever you wnat.I used to be able to controll the boost in my civic by holding the gas pedal at part throttle.I had the wastegate set at 12psi but I could hold it at 5psi if I wanted to.Once it was at five the more gas I gave it the more goost I got.Since our cars arent boost dependent, holding part throttle while accelerating will give you the ability to hold the boost where you wnat it.Given the fact that your not using a small *** turbo(wich your not).

If all else fails I think I have one in my garage that Ill give you if you need it.Let me know.
