there is no way to lower the boost on a stock acctuator. You can use washers to prop the wastegate open a little but this will create a lot of lag and doesnt really lower the boost, it will prob just not let you hit full boost. so go look for some aftermarket acctuator or dont be a sissy and run it how its suppose to be run.

just leave it, modifying wastegates can cause you more problems

Try porting the 02 housing.

I lowered my actuator on my t25 by cuting a 1/4 in out of it, threading it and putting a connector in it, lowered it to 7 psi, IT SUCKED!! major turbo lag, didn't hit 7 psi until 5000 rpms, and it was slowwwww, so I raised it up to 10 psi, and it's still not as fast as I want. Stock is set at 8psi, leave it at that, or don't bother putting the t25 on, its not worth your time, serriously!

If you put washers on the backside (inbetween the compressor housing and actuator) maybe 2 or 3 of them, this will crack the wastegate flapper slighly open. Its going to boost a little bit lower, however it will lag the turbo pretty bad when doing this. Your better off getting a gate off any of the chrysler turbos (anything on the 2.2l t3 ripoff turbos) they are all around 5-6psi, as well as the Nissan 300z turbos, if you can modify a gate to fit on your dsm turbo it will spool good and be set right at 5-6psi. Otherwise just got external ;)

What about the spring method? That seemed to work fine for me, use a carb spring and and make a little bracket to attach it to. Just stretch the spring untill you get to the boost you like. When you pull the wastegate arm theres a tiny hole there for a pin, use that to attach the spring to, then find something to hook it on (or make a little bracket with a hole that comes off where the wastegate was) Adjust slowly! Boost slowly to check where it hovers around, dont go out and hammer on it untill you know what the boost is. I never noticed lag that much with this method, but others might disagree. Better than hacking up the old wastegate.
