Default T-25 turbo project fail *VID*

So i decided to turbo my civic with a dinky Garrett T-25 i had lying around, I thought it would make decent power. It spooled fast, but after 5k, the car wouldn't pull. On the highway, the turbo would get red hot during normal driving, and would overheat my engine in 6 seconds flat if i put my foot down. As of right now This T-25 has been thrown out and something bigger is being installed. Here are pictures for your enjoyment.

D16Y8 Block

A little piece of HMT

Rods and Vitara Pistons

Greedy fmic and tubing

Rattle can wrinkle

This is how it came together

Cat making some final adjustments

Running 10 psi of boost at mid range and then boost tapering off to 8 psi at around 6k wasn't too fun. 15.020 @ 88.92mph was my best track time on this setup. I hope someone out there who reads this doesn't try to build a "fast spooling" "good low-end" setup, learn from other people's fail. I would post videos but they are just too disappointing and i want to save myself the embarrassment.

i seen a 95 hatch w/ d16z6 and t-25 on 10psi at track run a 13.98 you should be able to do better then 15's something is wrong. also is your internal wastegate flapper welded because if its not nothing is stopping it from causing it to leak off exhaust pressure. Also your drain looks like it comes down then turns then turns again, i could be wrong but i dont think that would work very well i know it would be best if it were sloped straight down to the top of the pan. That turbo should easily do 10psi to redline.

maybe that manifold is rubbish? Internal wastegate flapper is tied down with bailing wire. Also i had what looked like 1-1/2" or 1- 3/4" exhaust. Plus the oil drain was twisted like that to go around the downpipe.

Oh man.....your wastegate dump pipe is no good...

You have to take out to the atmesfere like everyone does, thats why you have so much presure in your manifold and turbo.

And is it 5 bolt flange or 6 you dp flange?

It's a 5 bolt flange. My WG dump is nasty and it does dump into the atmosphere

what do you have for tuning and you should at least go 2-2.5" exhaust and i believe if the manifold isnt leaking then it would be fine for what you are boosting.
btw the wastegate dump is not the problem, you should get the hot gas out of the engine bay but it will not make it run like it should be.
When do you hit full boost?? it seems like somthing is leaking on the exhaust side before the turbo. maybe a gasket leaking or crack in manifold or somthing.

Max boost would come in at about 3500. Tonight i just finished my 3" exhaust, so that problem is fixed. The car is also tuned on Crome with DSM 450's.

One more thing: My african american brother forgot to put in a gasket when he bolted the manifold up.
