swapping compressor housings...
 

1st of all, I wanna let it be known that I did try to do a search, and the page was down, and has been since I rejoined tha site back a few months ago, so all tha flamers and haters can bite me...with that outta tha way...I bought a .63/.60 Nissan T3 from Garn a month or so ago...This turbo is going on a Sentra SpecV and I've been told that the turbo is waay too small, I know I owned myself, but it was a good deal on what looks to be a well maintained blower...I just wanna know what would be involved in swapping out compressor housings??...I need to be running something along the lines of a T04E .50 or .57 trim or so...I know it can be done cause I've seen a site where a guy is selling this hybrid with the exact same exhaust housing, but he's wanting $695 with a core and that's alot of money for a brokea$$ nigga like myself....i'm wanting to just try and find a used or rebuilt compressor housing and wheel and putting it all together myself...has anyone else attempted this?? what other compressor assembly could I possibly use?...the engine is a 2.5L 4 cylinder(I know it's a POS, but it's my POS) and the stock cylinder head flows really well...I know I'll have to strengthin' the block eventually but I wanna be able to make around 265-275hp with 8psi and someday make 325-375 at 14 to 18psi...I already have a set of OEM SRT-4 injectors that should(they're brand new) flow 499cc and I'll use a S-AFC and a datalogger to control these...I know somebody out there has some useful information and I'd appreciate it...laters

Backplate, Compressor Housing, Compressor Wheel and have it balanced.

The part that holds the compressor housing. Basically you find what you're looking for and bolt it up and have it balanced. I bought off of garn also (see my avatar). That is a T04B .60 compressor housing, wheel, and backplate. This summer I'll bolt that up and have it balanced/rebuilt by Blaast. Ummm, I believe any T4 hybrid compressor side will work, but don't take that as gospel as to I'm not sure how universal these swaps generally are.

I always thought the newer sentra specV's were throttle by wire setups? How is that going to work with an afc?

I don't know in detail yet myself, but there are alot of ppl doing it...there is a guy here, Big J, his fuel management is set up that way...

There's no need to try and use a TO4E for 300+ hp when a TO4B will take you there and then some. Look for a TO4B S trim. The TO4E 57 and 60 trims can get you 500+ hp. You're just wasting a turbo if all you want is 300 hp.

actually the 63/60 t3 is IMO a excellent turbo choice for a spec V and will allow, as is, to 270-280 hp easily with good reliability.
swapping a t4 comrpessor will allow to reach almost 400 hp before your stage 1 turbine becomes too much of a restriction.

definitely, such upgrade should be profesionally performed.
Much more than just "balancing" is involved for reliable results.
695$ + core is twice what I would charge to a HMT member for such upgrade. :6
