suplamentry injectors for boost... injector question

ote that i'm not seriously considering this just in a thinking process... it's possable... who knows.

anyway the car i've got is a toyota mr2, got a 4agze in the back (or will as soon as i can swap it in, note thats just the motor, no SC, no SC electronics, it'll be run as an NA motor till i get the turbo on)

basicly i find this setup ver intresting... http://www.thedodgegarage.com/turbo_extrainj.html

my question is this... would a normal injector work with this? http://www.autospeed.com/cms/A_102/article.html after looking at this link and it seems i have quite a few injectors that are rated at about 30-35 hp about 150cc/min or 15 lbs/min (4afe)... would tyipical non cold start injectors work like the cold start injector systems? or do they need the needle/disk or whatever to slide over to get the proper misting?

just looking for answers
thanks
mark

i don't think it's the misting issue with normal injectors so much as constant current to the coils in a normal injector tends to heat them up and fry them pretty quickly as they're not designed to be "on" all the time the way cold start injectors are.

on the mini mopar performance page, there are a few schematics to operate cold start injectors in stages based on MAP sensor value.. if you plan on goign this route, maybe that would be helpful..

take a look:

uhmm try the SMC or SMC+

Re: suplamentry injectors for boost... injector question

SMC's don't work unless you got a map sensor for the motor ;-)

and of corse the mr2 uses the high voltage AFM rather then the low voltage which translates into the AFC's don't work either

that mini-mopar page is neat... guess it's time i learn to read schmatics DOH :)

in all honesty i don't realy plan to use the extra injector like that... it's very crude for fuel managment, i'm looking more at an extra injector controler... just looking at options and learning :)

thanks guys

oh my bad.
Try some other piggyback that uses an extra injector.
There are a lot of them around
especially here in europe
