Default suggestions on turbo for 3.0L v6

Looking for opinions on a reasonably priced turbo to do a single turbo turbo on the 300$ dohc stealth. I can get the twin turbo kit from the dads vr4 but he wants 1400 kinda steep. I'm looking for a turbo that will support 500-600hp. I was thinking of something along the lines of a holset hx35 or a t4 t3/4t. Looking for a turbo thats not gonna run me more than 500$ or so. And dont hate on the stealth

The turbo kit my dad has includes the 15gs which flow about 400 cfm or so a piece so as a rough estimate it would need to be a single that flows somewhere in the area of 800cfm or more.

T3/T4 is going to be struggling. The T3/T04S 60-1 hybrid will make about 400bhp @ about 10psi on several different DOHC 3.0L v6's from Japan. You could always pick-up a .84 A/R T3 housing with a big wastegate & put that on to help it out. You could probably squeeze 500bhp out of one of those...

For 500-600 you need to be looking more at a full blown T4. T66 & T67's are common. GT35R would be great. GT40 would be good. Abit laggy, but better than a T67. Some of the newer big Holesets...

Tony Leung's famous '94 3.0L 1mz-fe Camry made 320whp (409bhp) @ 14psi, 392whp (501bhp) @ 17psi on a T66. @ 10.5:1 Compression no less.

He's swapping to a GT40/88.

I'd probably save the money for a real GT35, or GT40 & rebuild the engine to start with.

Yeah my dad is going with the gt40 on his vr4 probably but hes working with a lil more money than me Im honestly leaning towards the hx40 it has the potential and the price is about right, maybe a lil laggy but it is fwd so that is not a bad thing. The fwd tt motto is ill beat anything from a roll....
