nice i think i may go with a t3t4 .50trim with a 63ar? or somthing i guess i will be getting full boost some where around 4k? if i am lucky....that way i got some room to play to maybe make high three hundreds....

and say i buy this t25 flanged kit is it a bad idea to use the adapter plate to a t3 flang?e

You will be getting boost by 3000, 10+ psi by 3500.

If you go GT3071R with T25 flange you'll get this, which is bullshit powerbandwise even if it wasn't twice the price of a brand name T3/T04E:

so what excatly is the t3t40E campared to the t3t4 60-1 and Holset HY35 or HE351CW is there anyways to explain this to a noob... and price ranges for these turbos new....

my friends knows quit a bit about turbos so when is show him these ideas and stuff he will better explain to me as well to...

T04E compressors are going to be .50 (popular on D16 and Mitsus and others), .54 (rare, used to be seen on LS Drag kits), and .57 or .60 which you see a lot of on B-series although they don't spool much later on D's. 425-475 whp turbos, inexpensive, robust. Try to get a stage 3 (the most common, incidentally) turbine wheel with .48 or .63 AR turbine housing (I'd go .63... spools marginally later but chokes top end flow a lot less). I really think one of these is the turbo for you, they aren't super expensive ($575-ish new) and with the recent economy woes you can find real deals on them if you are careful and only buy from reputable people.

I'm going to tell you about the others you asked about, but it's for you to understand not because I think you should run one:

The 60-1 is a T04B compressor good for 550-ish. It's an old design, but a very good one, which is why it's still really popular. They spool a bit later than T04E, even when married to the exact same T3 hotsides, because the compressor is bigger and heavier and due to flow dynamics and stuff.

You can think of HX35 and GT35 as similar, albeit more modern, compressor designs; comparing 60-1 vs HX35 vs GT35 is really easy in my mind. I really don't like GT35 due to price and how poorly it spools (only thing worse is GT30, spools just as late but makes less power :1) but it's more efficient (makes more power) than HX35 in the lower boost range. Both HX35 and GT35 have larger/laggier turbines. The HX35 is not very popular because, despite the great prices on them, they are physically massive and don't always fit correctly on the average shelf manifold meant for a T04E/GT35/common-sized turbo.

awsome well i think i will be going for a t3t4 turbo probably a .50trim with a .63ar or somthing.......but if i get this litle greddy kit i am just going to try to run the piss out of the turbo and have fun... and then look for a up grade probably get a adapter plate for a t3 flanged turbo

on a side note, is the easiest way to tell the trim and ar of a turbo just to strip it and measure?

or do all you turbo experts out there just know what the ---- looks like

Meh, a bit of both. Sometimes pictures mislead you, while there are a lot of the really popular units there making up 75% of what you stumble across there are literally a couple thousand possible combos.
