Default stupid question about wastegate

i know its a stupid question but i want to make sure. alright just bought xs 38mm wastegate and i think it has a 7psi spring, and what i want to know is i have a greddy e-01 and would i have to upgrade springs to get the boost i want or just set up my target boost level in the e-01 and let it go. wasnt sure that since i have an electronic controller if it would do it for me or not

i'm pretty sure that if you set the pressure you want on the boost controller you dont need to change the spring. If you change the spring to a stiffer one thats opens at higher psi you will not be able to turn the psi down even with the boost controller because the wastegate spring will not allow to open below psi that the spring opens at.

You won't be able to go any lower than the wastegate spring but you also don't want a spring to small, i forget but I believe there is a limit on how much you should turn up the boost, I'll try and find out what i am thinking about, but get a spring close to what you want to run and i'd say don't turn it up more than 10psi over the spring...someone correct me if i am wrong, so unless you are planning on running more that 17psi you should be cool
