strange PROBLEM, need advise!!!!!
after i got the wastegate fixed, i am having a strage problem.
when i hit full boost (10-11psi) at 5k, the RPM needle starts to jump up and down between 6k and 9k, most of the time the car feels OK while this is happening. BUT sometimes there is a POPing sound from the exhaust between 6k-8k. (when this happens, i let off the gas).

Well it passed the compression test. avg 200 psi across.
I fixed the popping sound by giving it more gas at higher RPM band. (-35 on VAFC)
i am still having the strange RPM needle jumping between 6k and 8k.

The tachometer is an electrical guage. It gets its signal from the distributor ignitor. My best guess is that maybe your ignitor coil/dizzy or tach guage are going out slowly. Maybe your tachometer guage can't handle the increased pulses per minute from a greater rpm advancement period, now from boost at high rpm. Just guesses.

i used the outer casing of a 95 delsol dohc VTEC distirbutor, and the inner parts of my 96 LS distributor.
