Default stock sleeves with internals.. how much boost?

I am looking into building a block with arias pistons and eagle rods, stock sleeves. with decent tuning, how much boost can the stock sleeves handle? 15psi? 20psi?

how much could it handle with RS machine sleeves?

you mind as well sleeve it while you have the engine apart it is only a few hundred dollars, if that is out of your budget, then you could do block posting, but I would sleeve it.

a few hundred, do you know something i don't know? the cheapest i have seen is about 800, but yeah, depending on what block it is, 15-17 psi is doable with just posting it if anything, of course i wouldn't suggest this for daily driving, just once in a while at the track, but if you can afford it, i would get it sleeved and be able to run 20 lbs. all day.

Its all about the tuning. Jeff cracked his posted sleeves on like 15psi and it was probably tuned pretty good. So be careful and tune the ---- out of your motor and good luck.

that was on a b20 which are known to have weaker/thinner sleeves than a b18

they say the walls start shaking at 15psi. I strongly believe against block posting. I feel it causes more harm than good. Its basic physics, pressure is a force exerted over an area. When the force is concentrated onto a small 1/8th inch area, The exerted force is multiplied exponentially.

block guards bite, just spend the extra 800 or whatever on sleeves.

i wish i had money to build my engine, but i guess <10 psi will do for now.

---- a blockguard. He is building the internals on his blcok that he wants to boost the ---- out of. You don't want a piece of ---- blockguard jammed in the coolant passages. That's like putting alteezas on an Enzo.

I don't have money to build a motor, I'm running >12psi. The boost keeps rising as a get bored with the car. Motors are harder to gernade than most people think. It took 16psi and some severe *** kickin to eventually melt a piston in my Integra. I'd post pics but I no longer have a camera.
